Friday 12th June | 6 PM
This June, we invite you to an extraordinary evening of cultural fusion with ANYANGO (Eriko Mukoyama), the world’s first female master of the traditional Kenyan string instrument, the Nyatiti.
As a Japanese-Kenyan Cultural Ambassador, her latest project, “NYATITI ONDO,” beautifully weaves deep-rooted Luo musical traditions with contemporary Japanese sensibilities into a fresh, global sound.
The performance will celebrate her journey breaking gender boundaries, as detailed in her memoir “ANYANGO NYAR SIAYA — Nyatiti Queen.”
Venue: Alliance Française de Mombasa | Free entry
18th June – 20th June
This June, the Mombasa Ocean Festival returns for its 5th edition!
Featuring a vibrant programme of science, culture, music, and community action, the festival focuses on ocean literacy across key local venues, including Alliance Française de Mombasa, Swahili Pot Hub, Nyali Cinemax, KMFRI, and Fort Jesus.
The festival has grown into a key regional platform bringing together government officials, scientists, students, artists, and the private sector, all united in addressing pressing marine challenges.
