LA NUIT DES IDÉES 2021

Le 28 January 2021
Every year, the Night of Ideas celebrates the flow of ideas between countries and cultures, disciplines and generations.
this year theme “close”,invites us in Mombasa to question the new “contactless society”, according to François Saltiel’s book concept analysing that our whole existence can now be lived behind a screen. The work is done. at a distance, love is filtered through algorithms, and our intimacy is disguised on social networks. Under the influence of a permanent connection, we paradoxically move away from each other. How to continue to make a society without contact, held at a safe distance through the systematic mediation of new technologies, turning to be both th cure and the poison?

HOLY BITS

Du 16 November 2020 au 28 November 2020

As a festival dedicated to digital arts and DIY modeled along the lines of A-maze & Naiccon in Nairobi, “HOLY BITS” intends to honor the cultural and creative industry at the coast and the artistic community that animates it, be it independent, nascent or already structured. This festival complements the initiatives already in place (Pwani Innovation Week, TUM Innovation Week), while differentiating itself by its ambitious cross-cutting nature: virtual reality, robotics, 3D printing, video games, animated films and conferences/debates. It will also have the advantage of draining with it all the experience of the Frenchtouch in this field. The festival aims to be an interdisciplinary and collaborative platform for independent, alternative or experimental playful creations. But more than that, it is also a space for networking, exhibitions and exchanges on subjects that influence and inspire creators, allowing them to question the present and the place of the human being in the rest of the living world.
