Formerly the network of excellence of “pilot schools”, resulting from a tripartite agreement between the French Embassy and the 2 Alliances Françaises (Nairobi and Mombasa), the new FLAAP network (French language as a priority) created in 2019 now brings together around 40 schools that responded to the call for applications. Its objective is to participate in the development of linguistic and pedagogical training for teachers in the network and represents the first step towards raising awareness of the FrancEducation label as well as a method of identifying schools with the potential and interest in obtaining this label.
WHAT ARE THE INTERESTS FOR THE NETWORK MEMBER SCHOOLS?
Offer quarterly training to its FLE teachers as part of their continuing education, in partnership with the Lycée Français Denis Diderot (linguistics / FLE / DNL)
Support teachers in registering and preparing their students for the DELF
Benefit from twinning program with schools in mainland France and Reunion Island. Access an online twinning platform available to schools in Kenya and on Reunion Island.
Obtain educational resources for its teachers in order to facilitate and improve their professional practice (+1 monthly newsletter).
Be awarded the Quality Label for a period of 4 years, subject to meeting the following 3 criteria:
# B2 teacher certifications
#FLE training (initial or continuous) for teachers
# DELF exam for students
Take part in all cultural and educational events organized by AF Mombasa (open doors, visit of french boats, Festival de la Francophonie, animated movie screening etc…)
